Diversity and Inclusion (English)

The last decade has seen major social movements, from #BlackLivesMatter and #MeToo to #LoveisLove and #RefugeesWelcome. These movements call for recognition, compassion and acceptance of the diversity in our communities. Although our communities are getting increasingly diverse, not everyone feels truly heard and included.

How do we move from simply being a diverse workforce to creating a truly inclusive environment? What form might this take?

We Offer

An engaging exploration of the topic, using articles, videos and podcasts, to make these heavy topics alot more fun and inspiring!

Diversity, Inclusion and "Intersectionality": What is intersectionality?

Theroized by Kimberle Crenshaw in 1989, intersectionality helps to understand how social and political identities converge in different ways to shape a person's lived experience in terms of power, discrimination and privilege.

Some of the categorisations that contribute to intersectionality are gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, education or socioeconomic background (but of course not limited to just these).

Intersectionality helps us make sense of the way we navigate the world, how we relate to it and how others relate to us.

  • A Modern Approach

Why is intersectionality and diversity critical for modern organisations?

Simply said: Understanding how intersectionality and diversity function in an organization may be one of the most important factors for creating more communicative, more inclusive, and ultimately, more effective workflows at all organizational levels.

This course on diversity and inclusion will unpack common jargon, theories and concepts and provide you and your organisation with skills and tools to implement at both the structural and individual levels.
