Technical writers work in many different fields including science and engineering, and technical writing occurs in many different areas ranging from scientific research papers, reports, and feasibility studies to proposals, technical descriptions, and user manuals, etc. – just to name a few.In fact, technical writing is everywhere!

What is technical writing in English?

Technical writing is characterised mainly by its plain and objective style, i.e., technical writing is, above all, clear and concise. Technical writing always seeks to achieve a specific goal for a specific audience in a specific context, e.g., a user manual for industrial engineers. In this sense, technical writing is always centered on the reader!

What makes a great technical writer?

Effective technical writers must learn to employ up-to-date and flexible processes for writing which adhere to the expected organizational and stylistic conventions of the genre in which they are writing. This could be a feasibility study or a user manual. Technical writers need to understand the legal and ethical implications of their writing.And added to this, technical writing needs to be interesting and engaging.
